Clear Acne From the Inside Out

Acne is not only a problem suffered by teenagers. Many people are plagued their whole lives with constant outbreaks of acne. For many people who have acne, this skin condition affects more than just their appearance. Acne can also have a serious impact on mental health. It can impact on emotions, daily activities, social activities, study/work, and interpersonal relationships. Even mild acne can take a toll on one’s mental health, .

At Gao Acupuncture Center, we specialize in acupuncture and Chinese herbs to clear acne without harmful side effects for all types of acne:

Blackheads

Papules

Nodules

Whiteheads

Pustules

Cysts

The Chinese medicine sees acne as an external manifestation resulting from an internal imbalance. Excess heat and toxin are the primary components which create imbalance resulting in acne. The general approach is to reduce internal heat by cooling the blood, decreasing toxins, removing stasis, and alleviating sluggish substances (we call it dampness in Chinese medicine) and improving intestinal function where toxins can accumulate. Underlying factors causing acne (stress, PCOS, hormonal imbalance, menstrual cycle ets.) will also be treated accordingly so that the acne does not return in the future.
