Acupuncture for Peripheral Neuropathy
More than 20 million people in the United States have been estimated to have some form of peripheral neuropathy, which is a result of damage to the nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord (peripheral nerves), and this damage is commonly caused by lack of blood flow in the hands and feet. A lack of blood flow results in a lack of nutrients; the nerves then begin to degenerate and die which causes pain ranging from discomfort to debilitating.
Our technique focuses on increasing blood flow by stimulating blood vessels for regrowth providing the peripheral nerves with the proper nutrients to heal and repair.
Indeed, studies show that acupuncture is an effective treatment for peripheral neuropathy. The idea is to prevent disease by keeping the nerves active and engaged.

Hong, a third-gen Chinese medicine practitioner, graduated from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in 1991, blending traditional practices with modern approaches. With a 5-year acupuncture program, she gained experience at the 7th Hospital of Harbin, China, and later practiced in Japan, Canada, and the USA.
For the past six years at the Gao Acupuncture Center in Maryland, Hong excelled in various health areas, including pain management, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, post-stroke recovery, Lyme disease, infertility, menopause, digestive problems, autoimmune disorders, and more. Recently relocating to Michigan, she founded the Troy Acupuncture & Wellness Center in Troy, MI, highlighting her commitment to bringing her unique blend of traditional Chinese medicine and contemporary wellness practices to a new community.
